Weather for Aerobatic Flights Melbourne

Weather for aerobatic flights must be conducted with good visibility and horizon. Generally if there is very low cloud from horizon to horizon with no blue then it can be difficult to find enough ‘airspace’ between the limiting altitude for aerobatics and the clouds.

All of the pilots at Adventure Flight Co are rated to conduct aerobatic flight with passengers down to 1500ft above ground level. This gives us great flexibility with weather for aerobatic flights. If the day is totally overcast with the cloud base below 2500ft then Adventure Flight Co will call you to reschedule your flight to another day that suits.

It is rare, however, for it to be completely overcast all day, so generally with a bit of waiting – maybe a coffee or three at Annie’s in Barwon Heads. We will be able to get your flight done if you really have to do it on that day!

We realise that a lot of people have to drive from Melbourne to Barwon Heads or down to Moorabbin for our flights there and we do our best to call as early as possible to avoid you wasting your day driving for no reason. Having said all that it is fairly rare for weather cancellations. If you have any doubts of the suitability of the weather for aerobatic flights then do not hesitate to call us before you leave.
