When visiting Geelong why not stay right on the waterfront and enjoy the views of Corio bay? Views on the You Yang ranges and surrounding area can be caught from the hotel. If you want more of a bird eye view then you should fly with AFCo and go sky high to really see the Geelong and regions landscape.
The Novotel Geelong is just the ticket and is 22min drive from the Barwon Heads airport and the staff at the hotel are familiar with AFCo flights. They can connect you to us and together we'll ensure your visit to Geelong is memorable.
When school is out for winter, you should consider visiting Geelong & the Bellarine for wintry fun adventures.
There's loads to do in the region and at AFCo we understand Mum's & Dad's need a little holiday fun too. Given the squids in your family won't meet our height regulations and can't fly with us (...yet), we reckon packing Mum or Dad into the passenger seat is a terrific winter reward for making it half way through (another!) year.
Given our head quarters is located at Barwon Heads airport, the family can have fun at some of the other local sites such as Solider on the Queenscliff fort, Point Lonsdale Lighthouse tours, golf at Lonsdale or Ocean Grove or Barwon Heads golf courses.
The best local fun is a beach or beach cliff walk - its free, authentic and another way to enjoy our be beloved coast line.
We hope to see you in winter - have wintry fun!

A flat out Combat Flight weekend just been. 10 Combat Sorties, 20 happy combatants! Was a blast to be flying as a team again. This is the reason that, in the authors humble opinion, the Formation Rating has to be the single most valuable addition to a license a pilot can pursue. Truly puts the fun in flying. And like most things, is more fun done with friends!
Here are a few pictures from some combat sorties over Frankston and Mornington Peninsula from the weekend. Combat Flights depart from Moorabbin Airport on specific weekends. Click HERE to find out more!

Formation flying in any aircraft requires specialist skills. Three of our six pilots at Adventure Flight Co are experienced in formation flight and hold the specific endorsement. The Grumman G164 Agcat is a great formation flying aircraft due to it's open cockpit and 360° views.
Flying close to another aircraft is great fun and does not pose any sort of danger, it is indeed standard practise in the military in a lot of flying. Adventure Flight Co also offers Warbird Combat Flights which involves formation flying, except with high angles of back and high G forces.

Fingernails were chewed down to the quick, the Lavazza Mio Coffee machine was furiously expressing espressos, the wind was checked and rechecked - straight down the runway. No excuses.
Could fit another plane in here surely..
Two Grumman Agcats, two CJ6 Nanchangs, some of Adventure Flight Co's fleet of fun flying machines. (and a Jabiru, shhh)

Soaring over the beaches along the Surf Coast on a fresh summers day. A majestic magic carpet ride over Sorrento, Point Nepean, Queenscliff, Port Lonsdale, Barwon Heads, 13th Beach, Torquay, Point Danger & Bells Beach.
B I R D S E Y E // today will forever be remembered as the day I took a joy flight over Point Lonsdale. Incredible. Irony? I used to be terrified of flying. Now I seem to be on planes most weeks, and I have learnt to love flying to a point of obsession... but going in an open air plane was a whole new level of upper limit pushing. I've most definitely conquered any lagging fears. Thank you so much @adventureflight ✈️🌊💫 #VisitVictoria
Adventure Flight Co has been featured in Geelong Surf Coast Living magazine, Summer 2015. Nothing like flying around our beautiful home (the surf coast) in summer. Thanks team and Merry Xmas!

For those visiting Melbourne that are pressed for time, save 7-8 hours driving to the 12 Apostles via Great Ocean Road and fly instead. Adventure Flight Co departs from Essendon Airport which is only a short distance from the city or Melbourne Airport.
For 2 people the cost is $1520, for up to 7 people $2,190. This is for the entire aircraft, exclusive to your group.
Total flight time is 2.5 hours. Aircraft are new, flown by experienced local pilots and fitted with oversized windows and air conditioning.*
Fly over the Melbourne CBD almost eye to eye with skyscrapers before heading over Port Phillip Bay and crossing the vineyards, pastures and coastal towns of the Bellarine Peninsular. We cross the coast proper around Torquay, over the famous Bells Beach, before paralleling the Great Ocean Road as it twists its way down past Lorne and Apollo Bay.
The Great Ocean Road then turns inland but we keep on flying south west into real wilderness - Cape Otway National Park. We pass the historic Cape Otway Lighthouse (adds 2 hours to your drive normally) then we round Moonlight Head and voila! The magnificent 12 Apostles swing into view!
The aircraft have oversized windows allowing passengers on either side of the aircraft excellent views and ability to take pictures from any side. Pass the 12 Apostles, Lockhart Gorge, Gibsons Steps and more before turning inland at the picturesque fishing village of Port Campbell. From here it is a 60 minute ride over typical Australian farming scenes of dairy, cropping, sheep and cattle before arriving back at Melbourne Airport (Essendon) less than 3 hours after you set off - amazing!
Alternatively, not-quite-so time poor travellers to the 12 Apostles can drive to Barwon Heads Airport - only a bit over an hour from Melbourne CBD. Prices start at $790 for up to 3 people, $1,250 for up to 7 people.
For more information or to book call 1300 341 006 to experience your 12 Apostles Adventure Flight.

Corey from FDesigns Photography and the lovely Ashleigh graced our hangar on a sultry afternoon last week for a photo shoot. I guess the pictures will say much more than words, in fact I'd be surprised if anyone is still reading this far...
Check out FDesigns Facebook page and see what this crew is capable of! We recently launched our air to air photography service, didn't know it would get off to such a sizzling start, albeit a bit earthbound - but then wing walking is difficult in heels.
